If working hard and seeing the fruits of your labor bring you joy, our DRIVER UTILITY position may be the job you've been searching for!  Our Driver Utility Team Member is responsible for the operation of equipment to transport products, building and grounds care, and operation of other material handling equipment and assists to move our merchandise within the warehouse and on the truck; performs janitorial and maintenance duties for building and grounds; assists in the contracts department as needed, and accepts and moves donations between locations. POTENTIAL TO GROW INTO FULL TIME POSITION.

Essential Functions:

  1. Works in various areas as needed. This includes but is not limited to:  Transportation Department, Maintenance Department, Contracts Department, and Small Appliance Department.
  2. Driver of company owned trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.
  3. Driver of company owned trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of products and
  4. Driver of company owned truck for shred pickups using designated shred bins.
  5. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
  6. Operate all material handling equipment
  7. Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.
  8. Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in proper condition.
  9. Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
  10. Plow snow and salt roads according to departmental policy.
  11. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
  12. Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  13. Loads and unloads trucks.
  14. Serves as a fork lift driver.
  15. Operates baler, shredder, and trash compactor.
  16. Assists in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance.
  17. Operates equipment used for snow removal and lawn care.
  18. Oversees and trains assigned trainees.
  19. Works one-on-one with trainees on interpersonal skills, production, work quality, and other skills chosen by the consumers to help them obtain and maintain community employment.
  20. Ensures that quality control and shipping deadlines are met.
  21. Initiates and completes documentation of quality and contract jobs as required.

  9. Carries out additional duties as assigned by the Facilities and Safety Manager.
  10. Prepares purchase requests for supplies and submits to the Facilities and Safety Manager.
  11. Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.
  12. Maintains and implements applicable safety laws and regulations.
  13. Maintains Goodwill's or contract company's safety standards within areas of responsibilities.
  14. Attends or conducts assigned meetings and trainings.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Industrial experience is preferred.  Has and maintains an acceptable driving record.  Possess a class B CDL with airbrake endorsement and be able to drive from location to location.  Have good organizational skills and be computer literate.  Be able to work a flexible schedule.  Experience working with persons with disabilities is preferred.  Be able to be licensed to operate a forklift and able to operate manual lifts.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to bend, stretch, and lift 40 or more pounds, and be able to drive for extended periods, occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures, noise, fumes, dust, etc.
