Job Summary

The VP, Finance is accountable for overall financial management of the organization, including ensuring that the books and records of the organization are timely and accurate. In addition, the VP, Finance is responsible for continued exploration of growth opportunities through the coordination of expansion efforts with the VP DGR and VP WFD.

Essential Functions

  1. Provide leadership and management of the organization's accounting, financial reporting and payroll department. The organization's Controller will report to the VP, Finance.
  2. Assure fiscal accountability and accuracy of the organization's financial information through the formalization of effective budgeting and operating best practices.
  3. In collaboration with the President & CEO, oversee and coordinate the Audit, Insurance and Benefits third party suppliers.
  4. Prepare fiscal reports including ASR, 990, 1017, MSR, wage and hour.
  1. Prepare routine and special reports for the Board of Directors as required by the Executive Director.
  2. Develop and administer the annual budgets in conjunction with the President and executive team.
  3. Responsible for annual agency licenses (dealer, charitable solicitation, annual report).
  4. Serve as one of the agency's prime contacts for bank accounts, insurances and cash management.
  5. Co-ordinate and provide documentation for the annual audit.
  6. Supervises mortgages, leases, loans, lines of credit and all financial institution activities.
  7. Reports financial information and provides guidance to the Finance Committee of the Board
  8. Follow all state and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to those related to recipient rights and confidentiality.
  9. Carry out additional duties as assigned by the President..

  1. CARF: Ensures documentation and compliance with CARF Standards.
  2. Safety: Maintains applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations in areas of responsibility

  4. Stakeholder Focused: Work with integrity and provide exemplary customer services to internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Accountability: Develop, implement, and track key metrics that drive performance taking a leadership role in maximizing the social and financial return of the community resources invested in Goodwill.
  6. Financial Stability: Utilize the resources of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.
  7. Strategic Visioning: Demonstrate commitment to innovation, continuous learning, and leading change in creating community value.
  8. Professionalism: Demonstrate a genuine interest in serving the needs of others and a positive attitude toward the community, co-workers, and individuals we serve. Represents the organization to the public with a courteous, helpful and business-like attitude.
  9. Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field required, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. Five - ten years of diversified experience in accounting management involving supervision of personnel, forecasting and budgeting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to bend, stretch, reach and lift up to 20 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, involves sitting most of the time in an office environment infrequently exposed to extreme temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etcetera. Medium to high stress.
