If happiness through enriching the lives of others makes your heart sing, we may have the job for you!  Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Michigan is seeking applicants for the rewarding position of LINC Coordinator.  The ideal candidate will be compassionate with a heart for helping others to succeed and bringing joy to others.  The LINC Coordinator provides support for people to perform activities, to develop and maintain life skills, and/or to obtain and maintain community employment, including one-on-one job training.

LINC Coordinator

Reports to: Community Program Manager                                    Department: Workforce Development

Classification: Hourly

Job Summary: Assists in the coordination and service delivery of Workforce Development programs.  Independently makes decisions to maintain level of service delivery in the absence of Program Manager.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assists in preparing for Individualized Plan of Service meetings.
  2. Assists in the planning, documenting, and evaluation of Individualized Plan of Service as consistent with recipient's rights, contract compliance, and accreditation.
  3. Documents and reports on program activities' needs and results to include but not limited to program evaluation and attendance reporting.
  4. Complies with standards and effectively communicates any discrepancies with staff and Community Program Manager.
  5. Professionally and positively communicates with homes, guardians, and other staff addressing issues and concerns in a timely fashion.
    1. Inputs Incident Reports into the CMH system within 24 hours of occurrence.
    2. Scan Incident Reports and assign code only as a last option and with approval from program manager to ensure sign off approval.
  6. Provides coverage and supervision for services as designated by Community Program Manager.
    1. Schedules time in program rooms to interact with consumers
      1. Develop and implement observation checklist.
      2. Utilize observations for continuous improvement opportunities for LINC.
    2. Assists in the monitoring of participants entering and exiting the building.
    3. Provides coverage in the event of LINC staff shortage.
    4. Provide staff supervision in the absence of Program Mangers exercising discretion and independent judgment.
    5. In the absence of program managers, maintains service supervision that includes consumer oversight, communications with referral agency/parents/support team exercising independent decision making.
  7. Assists in monitoring program standards in compliance with CARF standards, recipient's rights, CMH, and Goodwill policies and procedures.
    1. Working knowledge of CARF standards.
    2. Working knowledge of Goodwill policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
  8. Ensures compliance with agency and funding reporting requirements including contract documentation, program statistics, and case files.
  9. Tracks and reports individual progress and community engagement activities.
  10. Maintains individual case records, program data, and other records as needed.
    1. Ensures ALL LINC services documentation is filled in designated locations.
    2. Ensures documentation is filed in a timely manner.
      1. Maintain storage of CMH files after conclusion of services.
  11. Assists in preparation of program audits and monitoring activities.
  12. Provides accurate billing information, to include Medicaid billing, for accounting system.
  13. Maintains all vehicle records and ensure timely completion of all vehicle maintenance.
  14. Additional Responsibilities:
  1. CARF: Ensure documentation and compliance with CARF standards.
  2. Safety: Maintain applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations in areas of responsibility.

  6. Financial Stability: Utilize the resources of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.

  8. Professionalism: Demonstrate a genuine interest in serving the needs of others and a positive attitude toward the community, co-workers, and individuals we serve. Represent the organization to the public with a courteous, helpful and business-like attitude.
  9. Assists with arranging staffing with the person and appropriate support groups and individuals.
  10. Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.
  11. Attends weekly Job Coach Meetings and special trainings.
  12. Ensures documentation and compliance with CARF Standards.
  13. Adjusts work hours to include early and late meetings, work schedules, and contacts at various locations.
  14. Carries out additional duties as assigned by the Community Program Manager or designee.

Education and/or Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: English/Spanish bilingual is helpful. Experience working with persons with disabilities is helpful. A diversified job background is helpful. The incumbent shall:

  • Must be certified in First-Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of employment.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule;
  • Have an acceptable driving record;
  • Have a driver's license and be able to drive from location to location;
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid chauffeur's license;
  • Have a cellular telephone.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds, and be able to perform various job site duties with the ability to demonstrate work for training purposes.
